Patyrn gives you full control over your canvas dimensions, allowing you to work in the exact units required for your final product. Whether you're designing for screen or print, this guide will show you how to set up your canvas for success.

Step 1: Find the Canvas Size Controls

Your journey begins in the main editor. Look for a button or menu item labeled "Canvas" often located in the top bar or near the grid and zoom controls. Clicking this will open the Canvas Size Modal, where you can define the exact dimensions of your project.

Step 2: Choose Your Units (Pixels, Inches, or Centimeters)

This is the most critical choice you'll make. The units you select should match the intended final use of your pattern.

Pixels (px): This is the language of the screen. If you are designing for digital applications like websites, social media backgrounds, or digital wallpapers, work in pixels. It gives you precise, screen-based control.

Inches (in) / Centimeters (cm): This is the language of the physical world. If your pattern is going to be printed on fabric, paper, or any other physical product, you must work in inches or centimeters. This ensures that what you see on screen matches the real-world scale of your printed design.
